La Sécurité (Montreal / Tiohtià) is an art-punk collective blending bouncy rhythms, jagged harmonic textures, and minimalist melodic phrasing — all filtered through the sleepless glow of Quebec’s neon-lit metropolis. Equally at home exploding across a dancefloor, the band’s music is an invitation to live dangerously. Their lyrics, meanwhile, echo the Riot Grrrl movement, celebrating female empowerment, friendship (both sweet and chaotic), and kindness.
Since emerging in spring 2022, the eclectic five-piece has been invited to perform at SXSW, End of the Road, The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal (FIJM), while also touring alongside The Go! Team (2024) and The Rapture (2025).
Following the release of their debut album Stay Safe! (June 16, 2023), which was longlisted for the 2024 Polaris Music Prize, and its playful companion record Stay Safe! REMIXED (March 8, 2024), both released via Mothland, the quintet unveiled the singles “Detour” (October 22, 2024) and “Ketchup” (January 28, 2025). These tracks paved the way for a new wave of DIY sonic gems, this time in collaboration with Simon Raymonde’s iconic UK label Bella Union.
Once again navigating the fringes of punk, new wave, and krautrock, La Sécurité gleefully bends and disrupts stylistic conventions at every turn. Their second album, Bingo!, is set for release on June 12, 2026 via Bella Union (worldwide) and Mothland (Canada/USA).
