For over 20 years, sisters Bianca (Coco) and Sierra (Rosie) have performed as CocoRosie. Known for their fairytale-like, dark sound, they shaped the experimental folk scene of the 2000s. Their music effortlessly and confidently blends diverse styles, leading to descriptions of genres such as "freak folk," "hip-hopera," and "avant-garde pop."

The duo sees itself as a multidisciplinary art project, combining music with performance art, operatic elements, visual art, and fashion. Their lyrics often address themes like feminism, identity, and societal taboos. Their live shows incorporate not only classical instruments and electronic samples, but also unusual sound sources such as children's toys or a popcorn machine.
